The Lifecasting models are as much the creators of my
artwork as I am the artist. I have always been intrigued with the human form; no matter how the artist designs a composition,
the human form reflects a life of its own. My challenge is to take what is beautifully natural and expand upon its’ message.
Lifecasting starts with a vision, unites with the model, is captured by the artist and is completed, forming a Human Impression,
full of its’ own energy. In my artwork, I reflect my love of life and the people who share it. My goal is to capture the
gentle expression of life that often goes uncelebrated. My earlier works were in clay, but the directness of the Lifecasting
process has allowed me to explore my creative ideas more freely. I studied with Willa Shallit and Dean Ericson and continue
to stretch the limits of the Lifecasting process, working with alginate and ‘terre blanc’. I am extremely excited about
the artistic paths this process has presented, and I feel that my work is constantly growing and expanding with each casting
of life. As you view, feel the movement, the moment...the Human Expression.
